SUCCESS STORIES

Daniel Zuchelli, Stamford

Dan is set to attend New York University in the fall upon graduation from Stamford High. Dan plans to major in Pre-Med/Neural Science.

In his final two years at Stamford High, Dan's academic and athletic accomplishments were significant. In the classroom, he had a 4.3 grade point average (weighted) and 3.6 unweighted and finished in the top 4% of his class. He earned National Honor Society recognition, was class treasurer for the student government and was a member of the debate team.

On the field, Dan was the captain of the lacrosse team for his junior and senior seasons, after being a co-captain as a sophomore. He leaves Stamford High as the school's all-time leading goal scorer, and his five-goal game led Stamford to a win over city rival Westhill this year. He was an all county honorable mention selection, and also has run cross country for four seasons.

His combined academic standing and athletic prowess earned him the Stamford Old Timers Athletic Association's student-athlete award for Stamford High, and also the Connecticut Association of High School's Scholar Athlete Award this year.
